Lincoln Park

Est. 1873

The City purchased land for Lincoln Park for $11,000 in 1873 and named the park for President Abraham Lincoln. The park was best known for its beautiful trees and accessibility for the city’s West Siders. It was often suggested to connect Lincoln with John Ball Park via a scenic boulevard, and a formal plan for such a connection was made in 1904, though never undertaken.
