We are thrilled to announce Richard App as one of our newest board members! We have brought on 3 new board members as a part of our 16.3 million dollar initiative to support Grand Rapids Parks, Urban Forests, and Trails. Richard brings a great love for the city, small businesses, and community development to the team. He will be focusing on creating and strengthening relationships with corporate partners who help support Friends and ensure that our city continues to have developed parks and trails for the community to enjoy.
With a background in local small business, both as a gallery owner and artist, he knows how to connect with people, transform ideas, and tap into what visually inspires us as humans. And in his current role as Retail Retention and Attraction Specialist at the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce, Richard continues to show his desire to make Grand Rapids a thriving and vibrant place to both work and live.
When asked about this new role he shared “I am super passionate about the parks! And the active lifestyle city that we’re creating is nothing short of magic!”. With this positive energy, and his desire to always be curious and make the world a better place, Richard is sure to have a big impact in his new role, which will lead to an even bigger impact on our community’s parks and green spaces.
