Complete all four classes plus a hands-on volunteer event to become a Certified Neighborhood Forester. As a certified Neighborhood Forester:
Learn about how trees and humans interact with each other—for better or for worse—and how we can best advocate for the green spaces in our city.
Learn to identify common tree species through hands-on practice with identification keys and local specimens.
Master the art of selecting and planting the right tree by evaluating sites and understanding proper planting techniques.
Learn essential tree care skills – from pruning techniques and proper watering to mulching and young tree maintenance.
