With great excitement, we are announcing Mary Maier as one of our newest board members! We have brought on 3 new board members as a part of our 16.3 million dollar initiative to support Grand Rapids Parks, Urban Forests, and trails. Mary, a Grand Rapids local, is passionate about the community and wants to make sure that all people have equal access to experiencing all that the outdoors has to offer. Mary will be serving the community as the Friends Treasurer following the completion of Elaine Goralski’s second term.

Maier has worked in public accounting for over 8 years at BDO and brings with her a wealth of experience and a desire to make things happen. She was co-lead of BDO’s West Michigan Women’s Inclusion group and has also participated in the Grand Rapids Emerging Leader Series.

When asked about her acceptance of the new role she continued to exude her inclusive and enthusiastic attitude by saying  “I am pleased to join the Friends’ board so that I can help ensure Grand Rapidians can have access to the joy of the outdoors in all four of Michigan’s seasons.”

We look forward to new and exciting things ahead and want to say a big thank you to Mary for joining us on this journey!
