Get Ready to Plant Trees!
We’re kicking off our fall tree planting season with Neighborwoods in partnership with the Mayor’s Greening Initiative. Calling all volunteers for our fall community-wide tree planting event! In 2023, we’re going bigger than ever to plant 200 trees and give away 150 more over two days in the Roosevelt Park Neighborhood.
The shifts will start and stop at Roberto Clemente Park.

Estamos iniciando nuestra temporada de plantación de árboles de otoño con Neighborwoods en asociación con la Iniciativa de Ecologización de la Alcaldesa. ¡Estamos llamando a todos los voluntarios para nuestro evento de otoño de plantación de árboles en toda la comunidad! En 2023, nos esforzaremos más que nunca para plantar 200 árboles y regalar 150 más durante dos días en el parque de Roberto Clemente.

Tunaanzisha msimu wetu wa upandaji miti ya msimu vuli na Majirani kwa ushirikiano na Mpango wa Kuweka Kijani wa Meya (Mayor’s Greening Initiative). What is Neighborwoods and Mayor's Greening Initiative?
Each Spring and Fall, Friends and the Grand Rapids Forestry Department rally the community to plant trees! Our goal is to plant 10,000 new trees throughout the city as part of our goal to have a 40% tree canopy. Community and corporate volunteers come together to plant 300+ trees in a different neighborhood each year in an effort to achieve 40 percent tree canopy cover.
